Acupuncture is a collection of procedures involving stimulation of the skin on certain points on the body.
Dr Chris Baker offers acupuncture services at Langwarrin Medical Clinic. Dr Baker studied at the Australian Medical Acupuncture College and has been practising acupuncture for over 20 years.
At our clinic we typically use laser instead of needles, so no skin penetration is required. The laser light penetrates intact skin to stimulate the acupuncture points. From Dr Baker’s experience laser achieves the same result faster, without the patient needing to be immobilized for prolonged periods with multiple needles or electrical stimulators. Attendances can therefore be priced at the standard medical consultation fee.
Many patients with back or neck pain benefit from acupuncture, but it also may be used for other joint disorders where there is no easy remedy.
If you have persistent back pain, awaiting a knee replacement, have a spur heel or tennis elbow, then a course of acupuncture treatment could provide you with some simple and efficient relief.
